The cotton futures market has front month board prices 43 to 51 points in the black. New crop December futures are up 10 points at midday. Cotton bookings from the week ending 1/7 were reported at 362,002 RBs. That is up 113% on the week, and was 114% higher yr/yr. Cotton exports were also higher to 274,554 RBs. Cotton sales reported on The Seam for Tuesday were 21,154 bales for an average gross price of 73.11 cents. USDA’s Daily Spot Quotations report noted 22,662 bales were sold at an average price of 76.78 cents/lb on Wednesday. The Cotlook A index was another 120 points higher on Jan 13 to 88.10. The AWP is 62.25 cents/lb and will be updated after the close.
