Cardinal Ethanol began production at its ethanol plant in East Central Indiana, near Union City on November 1, 2008.  The plant is expected to use 36 million bushels of corn and produce 100 million gallons of ethanol, along with 320,000 tons of dried distillers grains with solubles (DDGS) per year.
